Moonke GAG: Project Initiation, and Ideas

The first thing we set about doing as a group was assigning roles, These roles were worked out to be as followed:

Natasha Lai (https://natlaiuca.blogspot.com/) - Concept Artist/Project Manager

Louisa Elvin - 3D Artist/Modeller

Aiden Gartland (https://aidensiobhannuca.blogspot.com/) - Coder

Once these roles were assigned the next thing to do was to think about what sort of game we wanted to make, after much discussion, we decided that we liked the idea of a Mystery, Fantasy, Walking Sim that was heavily story driven. We then all researched this genre and made mood boards of what we would like the game aesthetics to look like. We also agreed on the time period the game being set on to be the 60's with the house being abandoned for many years before this. We also created mood boards to help further this aesthetic

When thinking of the plot, we came up with many different ideas individually then collected them all together to get our final plot:

"The protagonist inherits a old isolated cottage from their estranged uncle. The uncle has been separated from the family for a long period time, as the protagonist grew up due to family issues. As they arrive, they find the house in a state, torn furniture, dark and dusty rooms riddled with rats & spiders, There are weird items scattered around the house, with notes and sketches that are concerning but the player brushes it off as their relative being weird.

You can pick up a shovel to deal with the rats and spiders in the levels. In the attic, there are a range of strange bottles of homemade moonshine - cool! Out of curiosity, they take a drink from one of the bottles they find. Everything appears normal in the current room, but when they return back to the main room they find themselves in a trippy, unorthodox version of the original level. The player must gain familiarity and navigate the weird & twisted world by collecting notes left by the estranged uncle and trying to make it back to the real world alive."

We then planned out a table to ensure we knew what we were doing and who was doing it:
